Teen Tech Week

March 7-9 was Teen Tech Week here at Bradwell Institute. We had a wonderful week full of technology activities! Monday, we learned all about how to create an interactive image using Excel by inserting comments. The students also learned how to edit the font, color, size, and shape of the comment. One class even added arrows to show movement over time of Medieval Europe. What a great extension to the original lesson! Mrs. Amis, Ms. McCook, Mrs. VanBelkum, Ms. K. Eason, and Ms. Hammock all took advantage of this lesson.
On Tuesday, we dove into Photostory basics. the students learned how to import pictures, edit them, add motion and transitions, add music, and save the project into a finalized movie. They were so excited to be involved and can't wait to use it in their future projects! Ms. Hammock, Ms. K. Eason, and Ms. McCook all took advantage of this lesson. Ms. McCook has already assigned a future project that requires the use of Photostory.
Wednesday involved the PE department. The students were allowed to forgo their usual PE lessons for a fun Wii-filled day. They were greeted with a Wii, a projector, and a large screen when they arrived in the gym. And the whole block was all about Just Dance II. There were four wii-motes and the students went to town!!
There were so many positive comments by both teachers and students that I don't know how we are going to top this for next year! Throughout the week, we impacted close to 450 students!! What an exciting week we had!!
